Reverend Rene’e L. Ellis
The Reverend Rene’e L. Ellis serves St. Peter’s UCC as Associate Pastor since 2022, with many joint community involvements since 2017. Rev. Rene’e began ministry with the P.A.W. in the ministerial capacity of Evangelist in 1983 and served as an Ordained Pastor since 2001 in Texas, Ordained Elder in Full Connection in the C.M.E Church in 2004; pastoring three churches in KY region. Rev. Rene’e has taught Church Administration and Tax compliance to church leaders across these United States. She leads with ecumenical vision to advocate in advancing evangelism, youth involvement, education and community partnership, with divine spiritual guidance.
Rev. Rene’e founded C.A.N.A.A.N. INC. a nonprofit corporation which promoted community engagement that advocated in bridging the gap between the local residence and city communities, as well as organizing many youth activities and mentoring programs for families impacted by poverty in Texas and KY from 1983 until 2022.
Rev. Rene’e graduated with her bachelor’s degree in business administration & management (2004) and master’s degree in education & Instructional Technology from Intercontinental University in 2006 and a Doctor of Arts degree in Theology and Biblical Counseling in 2007. Rev. Rene’e is a lifelong learner and attended many institutions of education receiving certifications in Nursing, Accounting, IRS Tax accounting, Mental Health, and Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary; Governors Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership Fellow Class of 2015, continuing education Facilitator certified as an Our Whole Life Sexuality Educator in 2016, Profession Master Life Coach (2021), other curriculums too numerous to mention.
She was a chosen participated in the ONE Voice Picture Photo project showcasing the effects of poverty, Rev Rene’e has receive many proclamations and acknowledged as Distinguished Citizen from the Mayor Office and Louisville Metro Council. Rev. Rene’e is an entrepreneur, Notary, published author of 4- books, plus written, produced and directed over 120 plays monologues and dramatic productions. She has numerous literary awards. Several of her compilations can be found in the Public Library.
In Texas Rev. Rene’e was an independent contractor for the Federal Government, City Utilities, and other city entities from 1980 until retiring to KY in 2001. Rev Rene’e has worked as a JCPS substitute teacher for six years, Site Leader for YMCA, and in the Louisville District Court and Jefferson County Attorney’s office until 2024. Two of her favorite scriptures is Hebrews 11:1-2 and John 9:4.
Rev. Rene’e has found joy in her four children, Sheree, Alvin, Carola (who passed in 2007), and Rogers; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and two grand cats Coco and Oreo.
